What We Built

Ngozi Uzonitsha Rotas saw a gap that parents in the Philippines know well. After school hours are often filled with whatever a parent can find: tutors they cannot always afford, YouTube videos that do not adapt to the child, or nothing at all. The problem was not that kids could not learn. It was that nothing made them want to. Ngozi came to Ceoism with a clear picture of what was missing: a live learning experience designed for children that felt as engaging as entertainment. Lumi is what she built. Lumi is a live afterschool learning platform delivering real-time video classes to Filipino children in Grades 1 to 6. Real teachers run synchronous sessions that students join from any phone, with no downloads required. A rewards system lets kids earn stars and build streaks so showing up becomes a habit rather than a chore. Every session is recorded for students who miss a class or want to review later. With over 2,400 active students, a 4.9-star rating, and parents watching their children go from dreading English to asking when the next class starts, Lumi is proving that the right format matters as much as the right content. Co-CEO applications are open for someone passionate about education, children, and the Philippines market. Ngozi built the foundation. There is room for someone ready to grow it.
